Session 7-C

IMPROVING UNICEF'S ABILITY TO LEVERAGE DATA ACROSS DIFFERENT COUNTRY CONTEXTS TO REALIZE THE RIGHTS OF EVERY CHILD AND ACHIEVE THE SDGS FOR CHILDREN.

← Back to Agenda

The talk will highlight the importance of data in advancing child rights and as an accelerator of progress towards achieving the SDGs for children, illustrated through use cases such as the role of data in responding to the Ukraine crisis, and highlight unique challenges in working with data within an international development organization. Learning objectives are structured by theme: Need for massive scale: working across digital and data maturity levels to address diverse country needs Working on behalf of beneficiaries: focusing on enabling national governments and the involvement of stakeholders including children Need for flexibility across contexts: working across the development setting and humanitarian crises and emergencies. We also share collaboration opportunities of interest to academic institutions, private sector and civil society organizations from data sharing to in-kind contributions in service of children, and highlight needs for flexible, scalable data management solutions fit to serve decentralized organizations.
