Organizations tend to struggle to achieve a high level of confidence when it comes to the safe and authorized use of their data, whether for simple reporting or more sophisticated efforts to use data to train Machine Learning and AI models. This uncertainty manifests itself in the form of data silos and the overprotection of data which limit its usefulness. We discuss how the use of Zero Trust Architecture principles, when applied to data specifically, can overcome this uncertainty and empower organizations to use any and all data for appropriate purposes while provided an unprecedented amount of assurance to data owners and stakeholders.
